I was just wondering what everyone thinks the best internet browser is for a Mac. I just received my new MacBook and want the best for it! :]

    Thanks!

Firefox is good, and firefox 3 will probably be good.
Personally, I use opera. It's not the best, but its my comfort zone. Aslong as you can deal with random freezes, its not that bad. When it does freeze, you can re-open it exactly how it was before, plus speed dial and being able to reload, go forware & backward, and open a new tab by flicking the mouse is nice.

    The best is subjective.

Me? I think omniweb is the best. Trouble is, it's not free and that's something we've come to expect out of web browsers.

    after that:
    FF3>Opera>FF2>Shira>Safari

Firefox 3. You can get the RC2 build now. I think the final build is going to be released tomorrow.

That's for you to decide :). All the major browsers are stable, it depends on what UI you prefer, what features, etc. You may like Safari's appearance and simplicity-look, or you may desire Firefox's extensions, or Flock's social network features, etc. Try them out, and decide yourself!

I personally like safari and I use it. I use firefox as a back up. I use firefox very occasionally.
Like Sam said, it is up to you. Different people will have different preference.

I've thought for years now that FF was best on every OS I've tried. Recently though, whether on OSX, Linux or even XP, FF has been hanging like crazy, and at NBR especially. For a couple of months now, and until the new version comes out (tomorrow?), I'll stay with Safari/OSX. With Windows (used very infrequently) I've been using Opera and Flock; Konqueror with Linux.

Firefox 3 is the best browser in Windows.

In OS X, I use Webkit nightlies with Safari 4 preview. Firefox came a long way since FX2 and is technically better than Safari/Webkit due to its features, but I still like and use Safari/Webkit because if its speed, nativeness and integration into the OS.

Been using Opera for a very very long time on PC and since I got my MBP also Mac. They just released the 9.50 final release and I have to say its the best yet. Even the sites which cause most browsers (including previous Opera versions) to ramp the CPU and eat memory like crazy seem to cause no ill effects with the new release. Tab-wrapping to multiple lines is probably one of the best features I have ever used and other browsers don't appear to offer it. IMHO nothing even comes close.

I gotta say firefox, just because all of the extensions, cross platform support, and again the extensions.

Though sometimes it does crash, but with Restore session, you can get back to the pages you were just at.
