I just got Vista installed on my 2.2 ghz MBP, what's the best video driver for my MBP? I looked around and searched quite a bit, but couldn't seem to figure out which one is currently the best. Right now, I just have the default bootcamp driver installed, is there a better driver out now that would perform better in games?

Also I tried downloading the driver from Nvidia.com, but when I went to install it, it said that I didn't have any Nvidia graphics card installed...

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks...

I'm not sure, but I heard that an apple patch was released today that updates the 8600gt drivers in the MBP. I have no idea how this will impact BootCamp drivers.

Default drivers are the best at the moment, from what I understand.

Otherwise, check out this site: LaptopVideo2Go

Apple just released those video driver updates last night, I would stick with those, they are probably the most up-to-date and most effective. If you are referring to BootCamp drivers, stick with what they give you, because there are very few compatible video drivers for an MBPs specific components.

For reference, Apple's Boot Camp 1.3 Beta drivers for the nvidia 8600m GT are still ForceWare version 101.34 (Vista Ultimate x86).

After applying Apple's latest patch I created a new Mac Windows Driver disk and checked the nvidia drivers; they are still ForceWare 101.34. So I'm not sure what this update actually changed for Windows.

Here are some images from my nvidia Control Panel, probably useless.

I'm sticking with Apple's drivers. No real problems yet.

the 8600m gt with those drivers is performing just as fast as any other 8600m gt. for the time being, stick with those drivers. in the future, (when boot camp is released in non-beta form) we will likely see updated drivers. its possible we might even snag some before then, when certain *cough crysis* games are released.
