With the inability to remove the battery on the new MBP, is it better to keep it plugged in when not on the road or keep letting the battery die down and just recharge as needed?

Battery health relies on time and cycles, so yeah, it will be better to keep it plugged in! I would say let the battery run down every 1-2 weeks, or if you need to use it daily go ahead. Frankly, I don't worry about the battery much :D; I'm into 2 and a half years and still get a solid battery charge! I never really cared about it - I let it run down when I want to, and I can keep it plugged in for weeks :p.
