The main desktop in the house is dying and so I decided to get a 24" iMac to replace it; should be here next week.

My wife has been using Outlook 2007 on that machine for all her emails and she wants to migrate to, and start using Mac Mail instead. I've been trying to find a way to transfer all her emails from Outlook to a format that can be imported into Mail but I've had nothing but problems. I came close by using ThunderBird to import everything from Outlook but quite a few of her emails weren't imported for some reason.

Finally I came across a program called O2M (Outlook 2 Mail) by a company called Little Machines. It cost $10 but it's perfect for the task at hand.

It's so intuitive and was able to convert her whole outlook .pst file into mboxes (for Mail to import), contacts (for Address Book to import) and Calendar (for iCal).

To think that I wasted close to two days on what should have been a straight forward process is frustrating. Anyhow, I'm sure some of you here are familiar with this program but for anyone else in the same boat as me, avoid the headaches and get O2M; it's the best $10 you'll ever spend.

Contacts in Outlook weren’t an issue. It was just a bonus that O2M did Contacts and Calendar events too. It's transferring emails from Outlook that's a headache.
