    Haha.

Thats part of the stock market, its going to go up and down. Just wait and see how it goes after WWDC this week. I wouldn't know why it wouldn't go back up considering Apple just reported its second best profit earning in the company's history.

This is a very strange post...read what is the point of it? Surely a stock market 'player' know their stock can go down as well as up?

Yeah when Spiderman 2 came out, despite its huge success, the stock (MVL) went down.

Yeah, I have to admit I don't get the point of this post either really. Apple is actually making the "right" decisions - they are the ones who have decided to investigate the possible problems with the stock options and the effect it had on their financials, and they have been very proactive about issuing battery recalls (precisely because of these problems with batteries catching fire or exploding, which isn't a uniquely Apple problem).

The wrong decision would be if Apple wasn't admitting to these problems or trying to cover them up, etc.

The really weird thing with stock market is that a company may be doing great - and the stock can still plunge. Basically stock is based in expectation of growth. If you can buy stock from a company that is worth today 60 billion dollars, that means nothing to you if tomorrow it is still worth 60 billion dollars - you will gain nothing by selling that stock you bought. One would much rather buy stock from a company that worths now 200 million dollars and gets to 2 billion dollars tomorrow - a tenfold increase.

As for Apple, I don't see anything abnormal - Apple is a company that's successful largely based on innovation, and the stock always gets somewhat low right before major Apple events. As they say, rumors of Apple's death have been greatly exaggerated - for a long time.

Not really that strange considering the poster. Or as a site admin put it:

"Of course you're right vassil, Realist has posted this kind of crap almost everywhere and it's easy to see thorugh, sigh."

No offense but you should check the apple news once more before you make assumptions that Apple is just like other PC makers. The reason it dropped was because "it may need to restate its financials going all the way back to September 2002 because of problems with stock options grants."

Check this report for more details.

Indeed. It's worth noting that Apple is hardly alone in this (the last article I read about this said that some 80 companies are investigating similar issues).

I think you meant to link to something else though? The link you gave is just to this thread.

I agree the stocks will go down and up on rumours alone.

Ok good we all agree, now lets dismiss this thread, as it's pointless in such a place as a notebook REVIEW forum.

I'm sure there are many investing forums out there you can visit and talk about capitalism. :)
