What about this one from the apple store? It's the base of the exiting model, but it's still quite powerful and for 1449, it's a good $450 cheaper than the Amazon one.

Yes, I agree with system_159. That one is a better deal and will still work great.

Sorry man but that amazon deal will not last until june or july. You will be lucky if you can still get it before the first half of this month. If you want to get these kinds of deals then you will most likely have to wait until the next refresh to get the previous model. Amazon always has these deals, as well as apple stores.

This will mainly last until the older stock of mbp's is replaced with new stock mbp's, which are already shipping, which means that existence of older models (and that deal) won't last a long time.

There's a possibility of another refresh around July, so the same type deal will come around for the current generation then.

Plus, the refurb shop gets refreshed about twice a week so just watch it whenever you're ready to buy and you'll find a good deal.

The refurb at the Apple store is the 2.2Ghz model. He's looking at the 2.4Ghz model with the 8600M GT 256MB at Amazon so that's why it's more. There was also a $150 rebate at Amazon on top of that price but that model is OOS at Amazon now and being sold by a third party vendor. The 2.2Ghz model is still in stock at Amazon though and is cheaper than the refurb at the Apple store if you do the 5% Amazon Gold box trick. Mine was around $1450 shipped after rebate at Amazon and that's for a new model shipped overnight. At the Apple store you're getting a refurb and will pay tax.

Yes the 2.2Ghz T7500 model. With the 5% Gold box discount and a $150 rebate on top of Amazon's current discount it came out right at around $1450. I then used my Amazon Visa to get another 3% off which was like $40. I have Amazon Prime so I got it shipped overnight for $3.99. No tax for most states at Amazon.com.
