PUZZLE SOLVED.....BUT READ IF YOU ARE CURIOUS............

Hopefully this screen shot shows up on my post. When I first got my computer, there was only one value at the top of the screen for the remaining amount of power, now there are two values at the top, separated by a comma. What is going on here? See where it shows 93%,100% ???? I understand it means the battery is 93% charged, but it never used to have both numbers until today......

And just now, a Canadian flag has appeared to the left of the percentage indicator.. What's up with that?

Edit... okay, I got rid of the flag. I dragged it off, and it poofed away, but I'm not sure how it got there in the fist place. The computer is plugged in, and reads (100,100%), the question still remains, why 2 numbers now, but only one before today... thanks in advance.....

Does the 100% still stand when you run on battery after unplugging from mains?

Yeah, I just unplugged the power adapter, and the battery symbol turned back into a battery looking thing (like my screen shot, but it's filled in solid black), and the 100%,100% went down to 99%,100% within a couple of minutes (as it should i imagine), now when I plug it back in, it has climbed back up to 100%,100%. Energy settings are normal for both modes. When the adaptor is plugged in, the battery looks like a battery with a 2 pronged plug over it. (To indicate it is running on power adapter mode I assume).

    second shot.jpg

Heres another shot, symbol in battery slightly different. Before, it looked like a battery with a lightning bolt through it, now it has a plug symbol

Hm, I've never noticed that before...but anyhow, I think what the second percentage is showing is the battery health.

PUZZLE SOLVED!!!!!, Okay, this is my latest image, and it was driving me nuts!!! I googled images of other screens and none looked like mine. I thought perhaps it was my express card or external monitor. I started to unplug things one-by-one, and when I unplugged my usb hub, VOILA!!!, it went back to normal. So I took a normal "cord style" mouse that I had lying around, (but not ever used on this computer), and plugged it into the same usb port, and nothing happened, but when I plugged in my hub again, it changed the menu bar back to the images I have been providing. SO... I went to the hub, (which is a "powered" hub, requiring it to have it's own source of power), and I unplugged one item at a time, and checked the menu bar after each one. I isolated the culprit to the external speakers, (which have a subwoofer, also requiring it's own power). Now I know... Relief!!!

Well........ that is a really good question. I'm not sure what the value of the second percentage was: ie; (93%,???%). The speakers I mentioned are plugged into the wall, and thus have their own power from there. I just plugged in my usb hub a few minutes ago, and the power readings are (55%,100%). So, maybe if the "other" number represents something that was battery powered, then it would allow it's charge to be monitored from the menu bar???? Just a guess... I have a Garmin GPS Forerunner that is battery powered.... I'll try it as well as my digital camera to see if I can reproduce this
scenario.... I will report back later.
