    Hi everyone :)
I was just wondering if a laptop bag designed to hold a laptop up to 15.4" would be okay for my 13.3" macbook. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks Chloe

You could get this Waterfield sleeve (custom-fit for the MacBook): http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.htm

and put it in the bag you've chosen. I wouldn't recommend letting your lappy rattle around in a bag that's too big. The Waterfield gear is a little more expensive than the cheap sleeves out there, but you'll only need to buy one beacuase they are built solid and last forever.

If it's not specifically made to fit that size, don't get it. The main purpose of a sleeve or bag is to make sure nothing hits the actual laptop itself. If the notebook can rattle and move around inside the case, then the case is hitting it, and that defeats the point entirely - actually causing more harm than good.

There are bags out there that allow you to fit smaller laptops into it with special padding that'll adjust to the size of your laptop. Otherwise, get one that's designed for the 13"

If I were you I wouldn't buy a bag that is too big for a laptop, a lot of shakyness inside a bag might damage something...

When I bought my macbook I bought this bag:
    http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-Cl...6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1184730481&sr=8-1

It's not too big but not too small either. It's awesome, it can fit the macbook snuggly inside, plus the ac adapter and extension cable. I also stuff in about 1 inch worth of piano sheets, and some notebooks. Plus the front compartment has places for an ipod, palm, glasses, cds, you name it. If you need me to post some pictures I could.

    Have a look here:
    http://booqbags.com/

Their bags are more expensive than others but the quality is really good.

I second the idea to get a sleeve. Look at the School Hymn from Crumpler. They are nice sleeves and with the added size, the MB should fit better in the bag you like. I would not put the MB by itself in a bag that is too big though because it will still experience too many g-forces for my comfort.

    If you have the money...

buy yourself the waterfield sleeve with a shoulder strap. Use that for daytripping,e tc, when you don't need any cables.
Then, go buy yourself a Timbuk2 laptop messenger. Use this for whenever you need cables/pretty much anything else you need to carry.

I love both, it's a great, great combination.
