When I get a MacBook Pro 15" (after they are upgraded to Core2) i'm going to need a backpack to carry it in. I've been looking around and i've found 2 candidates:
    Targus Rogue
    and
    Kensington Contour

I'm wondering if anybody has any other recommendations or personal experiences. Thanks!

kensington one isn't bad... Theres a lot more than tose 2 also. I personally avaoid Targus bags as they scream "I'm carrying a laptop" and I'd rather not draw attention to what I'm carrying.
Check out BooqBags, Ogio (lots of people love the Metroid bag), Spires and Crumplers are also popular bags.
The Slappa bags to me look pretty sweet (I'm getting one for my MBP).

That has several laptop backpack reviews... and most importantly, lots of pictures!

Also check the accesorys forum page and you there are a lot of threads discussing topics like this.

I'd look at the Wagner Swiss Army series, excellent quality and very roomy.

Crumpler has the most interesting site. However, it's totally useless except for a good laugh. No real info on the backpacks there. kind of stupid.

The highest I would be able to go is probably $50.

At that budget I would recommend the Maxxum Swiss Army backpack like xbandaidx suggested. It can be had for around 50-60.

Yeah, the Swiss backpacks are pretty nice.

I checked out the Ogio Metroid today... Not sure why people like it. Didn't look very good to me. Very small and not a lot of padding for the notebook. Didn't seem like i'd be able to fit too many books in there.

That brings me to my next point. I'm also going to be carrying around 2 if not 3 text books with me. Does anybody know if the Maxxum has a warranty?

Yeah the Maxxum has a warranty, I have the Maxxum for my Macbook even know it was designed for 15.4" notebooks, but the way they designed it was pretty good at keeping many different sizes from moving around.

I don't have the tag for it anymore, but I believe it said limited lifetime warranty.

I love those backpacks! I'm wondering whether I still have room to store other stuff because I think it's not useful if it can only store your macbook + some macbook accesoires.

If it can only pack your macbook, then I habe to wear another backpack on my back...and 2 backpacks is not done

All the other bacpacks really look dull

Does it have good padding, or should i get a sleeve? Sorry for the multitude of questions, I couldn't find a review on it anywhere.

Well, I think in terms of padding for the notebook itself, is pretty good but padding overall of the entire backpack is extremely good in my opinion, so really I feel like it has more than one layer of protection.

The backportion is very comfortable, most of the time I don't notice there is a backpack on and the shock absorbtion works well. I definitely like the base that allows the backpack to stand upright, best I've seen in a backpack yet.

I don't know where you live, but if you live near a Best Buy they carry them I believe (thats where I got mine) and you could check it out there. However you can get it cheaper online if you decide to get it (like 20+ cheaper) and my luck is that I bought mine right before a sale at Best Buy and could of saved that 20 bucks. Just my luck oh well. ;)
