    Audacity on a Mac

    Who records with audacity? I use my macbook with music applications and need to record live dj mixes, so I downloaded audacity. However, whenever I have the sound quality to record at 44.1khz with a sample rate of 24, the program crashes, when I change the sample rate to 16, the recording works, but its not the sound quality I'm looking for.
    Anyone know why this is and what I can do to fix this?

    Garage band is watered down. It serves a purpose, but at a certain point professionals need better tools.

    In this case, it doesn't directly do what he's looking for if I read correctly.

    Mine has been 100% stable. I mainly use it for cutting people's tracks down to put on a website, or to make ring tones. So far it's worked like a charm and been reliable.
