They look "pretty" but can anyone here justify the four figure price tag?
(I've only ever used PC's)

The 13" MBP is not a bad value actually. They've dropped a lot in price in the past year.
But ya, it use to be an strong negative. That's no longer the case. -

Very user friendly, great screens.... Most people buy macs because they are very simple and get the job done very well not to mention the size... However, as for actualy bang for buck and power:cost ratio I can safely say it is not balanced. Both my friends at my university have 13" macbook pro's and they will be the first to tell you they are completely over priced for what they give you performance wise. I have this computer and the previous generation black 13" MB pro, and I can tell you for me PC's always win.
The question is are you a normal user... the average person
or
One of us who likes to upgrade their rig, play games, and OC? what I mean is PC's are much more versatile in what they can do... -

If you took the cash, then it's not worth the money.
If you didn't take the cash, then there you go. -
Obviously many people justify the price, otherwise Apple wouldn't be in business.

I said MBP didn't I... wups lol, not but I have a 13" black macbook
-
MBPs have actually come down in price and the 13" is actually reasonable, which is why I picked one up.
I think everyone here knows that the internals of a Mac are the same as a Windows machine, so its obvious that Mac owners aren't really concerned about this.
The only other thing I can think of is the form factor and OS X being a factor. For me it was both. -
The good is worth what people are willing to pay for it. In this case, a large enough group to keep Apple in business, so it must be worth the money for all the reasons already stated.

This is true, I will say it's very nice to use the mac sometimes. but I feel it often comes up short for my particular needs, so I go PC. What I meant to say was it all comes up to your specific needs, if you are just surfing, using words and or occasionally using photoshop then A mac is perfect, sleek and quick. But anything beyond that I feel the OS and hardware of the mac often isn't adequate for the needs of the more advanced user...
Hence why you usually see the more computer savvy members with PC's, I know I'm a little biased, but I think for good reason. -
After my G5 crapped out on me after less than 4 years I don't think I'll ever give Apple my money again. I spent a lot of money on that computer in 2004 and expected it to last a very long time.
I might of just had some bad luck with that one unit but I cant see me ever go for a Mac desktop again. If I bought a Mac again it would be a lower end machine like a mac mini or a cheap macbook.
Their OS is great I will say. But I also like how pc's are much more open for upgrading and building stuff yourself. -
Are there cheap Macbooks? I'll need to look at those.
At least there isn't any trolling yet. -

Does your work offer employee discounts on stuff. I know CVS does at the apple store, among other things. -

Ghosthostile, you will need to ask a more specific question if you want a tangible answer.
