Ive purchased Applecare for my MBP 13".

Ive been through the registration process, and am awaiting confirmation of my cover etc to be emailed to me.

During the registration I entered my Applecare agreement number, and the serial number for my MBP - so I know my MBP is covered.

However, is my Airport Extreme (purchased a month or two after my MBP) automatically covered, or do I need to add that to my Applecare agreement??

Your Applecare Protection Plan only covers the product you bought it for.

Last I checked, there were 11 different plans, none of which covered the scope of the Airport Extreme, which is a separated device apart from your MacBook.

I too have an AP Extreme, which I bought right after my latest MBP. I have AppleCare and would never think that my accessory and peripheral purchases would have coverage, unless I bought an ACP agreement for that too. I don't know of any peripherals that have an ACP coverage plan available.

The AP Extreme is also covered, as long as it is purchased after your MBP (within 1 year).
I know this for a fact, since I know people who have had failed Time Capsules, and have had them repaired/replaced for free since they have Applecare on their notebook/system.

    From the Applecare site......

Now there is a situation where it's not so bad to be proven wrong.

    Nice find there.

    Thanks for the whoopin'. :)

Here is the relevant text copied from the Apple website source cited by ifti - the purchase period she/he mentions is slightly incorrect:

    2. The AirPort device or Time Capsule must be purchased up to two years before your Mac purchase or during the term of your AppleCare Protection Plan coverage.

I, too, was unaware of the added coverage under AC for the Airport products until I linked into the document. Kudos to Apple.

So, since my Airport Extreme was purchased a month or two after my MBP, I know its covered under my Applecare warranty. Just wanted to know if its automatically covered now that Ive registered my MBP with my Applecare, hence I need to do no more, or whether I need to register my AEBS also?

It would appear that you just need to save the receipt for the APE to confirm purchase date, since that would allow you to confirm the purchase timeframe requirement under AC.
