So is AppleDefects.com showing some genuine widespread issues?

Or is it a bunch of whiners making lots of noise about some isolated issues and blowing it all out of proportion?

    Comments?

    Its neither :D

The issues aren't widespread, they're what they state: defects. But they aren't whiners, because a lot of the issues were recognized and fixed by Apple. Too much thermal grease, mooing sounds are true issues, for example.

Most of the issues surrounding the MacBook Pro and MacBook were addressed in the Core 2 Duo versions of the notebooks.

Don't worry, defects are a very very small percentage of all the notebooks out there. Possibly 1% or less. And if you run into trouble, Apple will most likely replace your MacBook/MacBook Pro.

Every product has it's issues. In this case, Apple has revised their laptop to work the bugs out in the Core 2 Duo version.

Manufacturers like Alienware have not. You should search the net and these forums for all the issues related to Alienware. Not to mention their support.

Apple's support is ranked 1 from what I understand. You will not have to hassle and prove the representative wrong for hours to get your Apple fixed/replaced. Atleast this is what I hear.

If you want to know what problems Apples have, ask a mac OWNER, not some stupid website. But yeah, as much as there are people that hate on apple, there are people who swear by apple products. And for good reason.

Thaks for the info everyone. I already have an old iBook G3 from the same line of machine that supposedly had tonnes of problems (logic board, lcd backlight power, video chipset overheating) but I have had none of those problems.

I actually have no problems with apple support because when I contacted them regarding a dead battery I had no complaints about the service.

Don't let the website deter you from purchasing a Mac. I too was skeptical and did much research before purchasing two Macbooks. Neither had any of the problems listed on the site (knock on wood).
