I have a MacBook 13" (regular, NOT PRO) Unibody that I bought in April 2009.

I am now planning to get the AppleCare warranty and I start looking online for the best price (Apple's price is too high). What I am confused is that there is SO MANY different AppleCare part's number for the MacBook.

Here's what I found so far, searched via Google and Amazon:
    - MA519LL/A
    - MC246LL/A
    - MC258LL/A

The price for each of these varies, from $169 to $249. So how do I know I am buying the right one... or are they all the same?

If you go the Apple site and put AppleCare for MB/MBA/MBP 13" in your cart, it lists MFR# MC246LL/A.

Searching the Apple site for the MFR# you listed give the following:
    - MA519LL/A = No Reuslts
    - MC246LL/A = MB/MBA/MBP 13" AppleCare
    - MC258LL/A = No Results

I'm not sure this proves anything, but it certainly seems that MC246LL/A is the current MFR# for AppleCare for your MB 13"

I searched in Amazon and the ONLY one that shows up are:

    - MC258LL/A = $200
    - MA519LL/A = $169

Part no. MC246LL/A, which is the only one shown up in Apple website, doesn't even show up in Amazon.

I would be interested in what you find too as my uMB was bought also in April and I was wanting to get Apple Care for it. I have seen prices cheeper on Ebay though from very respected buyers but like you I have no idea which one I need to buy.

Since Apple website itself shows MC246LL/A as the only AppleCare for MB 13" (not Pro), I Googled that Part number.

The result is not much. Some no-name store like Costcentral.com is selling it. I kind of wary of buying from no-name store, so I am not sure...

My recommendations on this topic and Ebay purchases, as discusses previously, can be found here and here.

Follow these suggestions and you will be fine.

I got two from an ebay seller (included origional un opened box etc) and had one on a 6,1 and the other on a 5,2 macbook. So the one i had worked on two generations.
Idk if that helps, but moral of the story: if it say's "macbook 13" you should be good.

I'm pretty sure model numbers don't matter, just as long as it's for a MBP 13inch or MBA, or iMac, etc.
