I read all about how good Apple support is. Looks like BS to me. I'm trying to get into the discussion forums over there and can't get an account. I fill in all the blanks and agree to term and it just sends me back to do it all over again I can't find in all the pages of help they display where to go or mail when account setup doesn't work. Does any body have a clue where, who or what the email address is to get help.

Probably Discussions has a problem right now. I wouldn't call it BS, that's a pretty strong term to describe Apple customer support in general.

Anyway, normally its okay, so I think its just a temporary error. Let me try logging into my Apple account.

EDIT: I tried to make a new account, and yes, I can't seem to get it complete either. Its probably just a temporary issue, I see no reason why Apple would do that on purpose.

I think all support is BS. :) They all spend more time ducking things than stepping up. Just spent three days trying to straighten out an ink cartridge problem. :( They had a "Live help" box that was always closed ?? No reason they couldn't put a little email or "having problems" box there. I got the same run around when My hard drive failed. Just off the top of my head if you know. When they put my new drive in they mispelled my name. is there a way to get in through the administrators and fix it.

They are very well known to be very good support. I hear very few bad stories about Apples tech and customer support.

I know people who have had to use Apple's tech support to get something fixed and what not, and have had great service. They are fast too... Friend of mine sent in his old powerbook cause he dropped it, which broke the hard drive, and they replaced the drive at no cost (was still under warranty, and covered it even though he broke it) and had it back to him in 3 business days.

I'm much less worried about Apple's tech support than anyone else's support :p I've had bad experiences with Dell and a great experience with Gateways in the past, and the one time I've had to use Apple's tech support (when my magsafe ... burned up) they were great. Since I did not have AppleCare, they were a bit hesitant to talk to me. Even though it was a hardware issue and was still under warranty, they wanted me to get AppleCare (I didn't have the money for it). Overall, was quick and easy.

This is just my experience, but it might count for something.

I used to be an Apple Certified tech some years ago when I worked at a repair shop (Third party company that dealt with Apples only). If you had a valid warranty, almost anything was fixed for free and as fast as possible. Apple's response to the techs when they needed stuff was usually to get it done.

If you are out of warranty, Apple doesn't want to deal with you much for service. Same with any other company really. In that case you'll have to go somewhere that you can dole out cash.

Just wait til tomorrow and see if you can sign up for an account, or ask your question here or on macfixit.
