when will apple be doing the summer update of their macbooks?
they usually do this by offering a better processor, hard drive, ram during june/july/august time.

they also offer free ipod/itouch around august to get rid of old stock dont they? and the laptops are cheaper.

and will snow leopard be out in the next month or two with the macbook updates?

I want to buy a macbook pro but i dont mind waiting till its cheaper or has new stuff.

There is a possibility of everything. Apple kept released product under the hood very well. Wait if you can.

Industry estimates for SL public release are Aug-Sept timeframe, with debut initially at WWDC in early June.

to consider any new software/os need time to polish, i would rather get a leopard and use it for a year before upgrading.

ask yourself this: what have you gain from xp to vista? even if sl is much improved over l. do you need that? what would you miss in between?
    and again, os/x doesn't bring miracle(s) and steve jobs isn't god :)

Yes, leopard has proved it's reliability but most people would prefer waiting for the latest version of an os.

    i love beta testers :)
(81C, firefox, transmission@110kb/s, 4.4krpm) seems like there is a bug somewhere that causes the heat to accumulate out of no where as this happen on occasion. it doesn't help turning transmission off.

You must have a lemon! Mine never gets that hot, without Transmission. Try Activity Monitor if you haven't already, and see if there's something else running that you don't know about. You might have something blocking the air from escaping properly, or just a lemon like I mentioned. :( Is it on the same scale when the fans are lowered, such as 2000RPM and 90 C, and etc?

Yup, you certainly have a lemon. Torrenting increases temps but not by that much!!!

it just happen without reason and back to normal after a warm reboot(the machine responses).

while at 80C the fan goes to 5-6k automatically... i am thinking it is a software issue since i the temp doesn't even go as high while gaming.

the temp would remain at 80+ even when everything is turned off.

most of the time i have a notebook cooler below it when i am at home and have something to elevate the laptop so it doesn't gather heat from the desk.

    room temperature is kept constant.

i mentioned BT only because it was the only 2 program i run at that time.
