Does anyone out there use their Apple primarily for photography related work? I do everything from cataloging, editing, photoblogging, web design, selling, etc. I am looking at the Macbook as that is the only one I can afford. I became interested in reading the website of a pro photographer who swears by Apple. Although I have read that some programs, such as Photoshop CS2, run slowly on the new Intel Duo chip. This worries me as I work with CS2 every day. Another concern of mine is MP3s, of which I have thousands. I have an Archos unit, will all the files need to be converted to .m4a, or will mp3 work on the Apple system? Please tell me your experience or your thoughts on using an Apple for photography related work. Thanks.

MP3's will work just fine on an Apple, however your syncing software for the Archos my or may not. If it does not you can drag and drop or look for a hack. CS2 does run under rosetta making it slower. I have no experience with photshop on an Intel Mac, but I do use Dreamweaver and Fireworks and both load slow, but once loaded run fairly quick. If you can wait for a Universal Binary of CS2, that's what I would do. If you can't it will be coming next year, so you would have to decide if you can deal with it until then.
