Hi, the reason why I'm posting in this forum is that I've recently bought an Apple Wireless Keyboard to use on my PC (and laptop when it arrives). I've researched on the compatibility of the Apple Wireless Keyboard on PC, and apparently, it works, it requires a Bluetooth USB dongle (which I have, the D-Link DBT-120), but it's refusing to connect. I don't know what to do at this point, I've tried using the stock Microsoft Bluetooth drivers that were autoloaded the moment I connected the D-Link dongle for the first time, and I've tried installing the D-Link software - still no-go.

Anyone ever try this before? I'm really disappointed it's this hard to connect on a PC, and from what I know, that it is possible, so please, no "it was designed for Mac so it won't work" nonsense.

    Thanks.

I am not too sure what could be causing the issue. Does the PC even see the keyboard when you search for it? If not, bee sure you are set up to be discoverable. Also, this may seem basic, but be sure you are doing what you are instructed to do with the keyboard. I have no experience with that keyboard, but perhaps there is a button you need to push to make it visible or something.

The only switch on the keyboard is the on/off switch, so I'm guessing this needs to be on to be discoverable. Windows detects the keyboard alright, but whenever it wants to exchange passkeys it just doesn't work out.

Can a mod move this to the Wireless forums? I think it might be better answered there.

    Thanks. :)

OK I see these postings are quite old and you might have a solution but here goes: If you use a dongle, try to use one that uses the Toshiba drivers; the Toshiba Bluetooth stack seems to be universally more user friendly for a variety of devices. When you select a passcode for the keyboard, let the computer do it for you. Apple doesn't use the typical 0000 passcode for its keyboard. It should pair and once it does it works quite well in Windows XP except for a few mapping inconsistencies which are to be expected. Kagi software is supposed to be coming out with a driver to fix this so you may want to check their website periodically.
