Yes, I've been expecting one of these for a while now, and my dreams came true. :p I knew they were going to produce one, but just a matter of when. Very innovative of Apple, but we'll see how it actually performs when it comes out. ;) Thanks for the notice, Sponsi! :D

The talk of processors in the article was odd. I mean people say that the Atom is plenty to run OSX so I think it would run a beefy iPhone pretty well.

If this tablet is to become succesful, I envision a couple features being necessary:

-the ability to take peripherals, such as a keyboard and mouse
-the capacity to stand independently, via a kickstand

With these two, this tablet could be set down at a desk to become an all in one computer, in addition to being an ultraportable. Now THAT would be amazing.

While I can see a USB port and bluetooth... I seriously doubt, and pray they will not put in a built in kickstand... yuck... would be better to have some snap on type that can be removed if people don't want it.. without permanent molding on it from the kickstand.

Ew, not quite sure why I said kickstand. A removable snap on thingy would be far better as you suggested.

Hmm...lets see. I have an iPhone, I have a MBP. Now this tablet seems to be a cross between the two. I don't think I need another device to carry.

I am hoping it an 'affordable' mac take on a netbook (as odd as that ma sound). I would prefer it if they used an Intel processor and a more full version of OSX, or at least had a premium offering like that.

i could imagine a dock-stand that supports the unit from the bottom.

    not unlike the ipod dock.

This Apple Tablet in my opinion will be nothing more then a glorified iPod touch.

    Hopefully not.

HTC has already come out with a device that can hot-switch between a full-fledged OS and a matching mobile one. Switching in-between full Mac OS and iPhone OS, anyone?

Obviously a fake. There's some pics floating around somewhere of Apple's patent they filed, that originally started this rumor.
    But seriously, an ATOM??? ewww...

if its an Atom, its x86... should only stop from running Windows if they purposefully try to block it, or use an ARM processor

Could Apple possibly be using the Nano Ion?

At $700 for a tablet, if the price is close to being correct, I suspect that this might end up being just another Atom, which is too much money for my liking --even with a nice and high-res touchscreen.

seriously doubt we will see atom processors in apple tech.

they shoved a core 2 duo into the macbook air.

i expect to either see core 2 duos or arm processors, depending on the power budget.

Hmm good point masterchef. I wonder if they'll use those tiny ULV processors that were custom made for Apple for the Air. *assumes pondering pose*

I've been waiting 3 years for something like this to come on the market at an affordable price point.

Three things that would stop me from buying this:
    1. Iphone Os (Why not just buy a Ipod touch if it has that.)
    2. Forced data plan. (Don't have the extra $60 a month.
    3. Price is above $800. (I would just wait a little and maybe the price would come down.)

If the tablet would be like this with some updated hardware because the video was made a while ago.
