Im tryin to find a lappie for college. Most likely sofware engineering so i will need to run c++, vb, sql and such programming languages.but im not sure if apple laps will suport my studiz

Not much need for games, though i wud like to play Pro Evolution Soccer adn Football manager. other than tat i dont play high end gamez

hey Super, if you get an Intel based Mac and use it to dual boot to Windows or Mac OSX then you could certainly use it for software engineering coursework. Visual Basic is a Windows only programming platform, so you would definitely need to use Boot Camp. Right now the MacBook Pro is your only option for an Intel based Mac laptop. In June the iBook should come out for a cheaper and smaller alternative to the MacBook Pro.

i personally think that the MBP now is too hot to be called a laptop. I would wait until apple fixes the heat problem before going into the MBP
