I have an Apple keyboard connected up to my iMac. Anyway I was using it yesterday, and then out of nowhere, it stops working, well at least some of the keys anyway. Like, ? I was in Windows 7 via bootcamp. Either way this poses a serious problem, I need a working keyboard. Does anyone know what happened? I tried restarting, disconnecting keyboard and reconnecting, different USB ports. It's just not working. Any suggestions?

    RANT AREA:

I have had it with Apple, forever. I don't care what anybody says, Apple ain't reliable, at least for me anyway. Every product that I have owned by them is defective in one way or another. Mice, keyboard, iMacs, iPods, you name it. I'm getting kind of sick of this. My goodness, this is just freaking ridiculous.

Ok, hyperventilation over. As you can see, I'm not having quite the best day ever.

Perhaps the problem lies outside of the products themselves and the way they're being used.

Anyway I'm really at a loss here. Is the only solution get a new board?

About that, my option key is one of the defective keys, and I default boot up to the Mac partition and I can no longer actively choose which partition by holding option at startup. If I set the default startup disk to Windows to see if it works, it could turn out pretty badly:

    1. If the keyboard works, great, I type my password, login, and try and figure out a solution

    2. If the keyboard doesn't work, I can't log in, and I can't boot into the Mac partition anymore because of the defective option key and I'm stuck booting into Windows.

    This....is.....frustrating...to say the least

Are you close to an apple store? I was going to suggest that perhaps you should take the keyboard and try it on a computer in the store. This way you may know if it's keyboard problem and not a computer problem. Or perhaps use a windows keyboard until you figure out what's wrong with the apple one.

Please let us know the resolution.

or try the Mac keyboard on any computer you have access too... it doesn't have to be a Mac.
