    is it a good idea to run Apple Hardware Test when you've just got your brand new computer?

    do you run hardware test when you just got your new computer?

    is it a bad thing?

    i run apple hardware test, just to make sure. it wont do any harm right? coz it is so primitive, OS 9 base?

    Just let the laptop run for a long period of time, I usually have mine running 6-8 hours for a couple of days, and hope nothing props up.

    I don't see any problem with running Hardware Test...go ahead. Its not going to damage the Mac in any way - if it does, then you have every right to complain to Apple.
