Alright, so here it goes.
last night I tried to run two games, BFBC2 and Dragon Age: Origins under win7.
BFBC2: well, didn't know if the game was going even to start, which it did to my surprise. OK, in video settings I choose maximum available resolution, which is 1200 to 800 (If I remember right, but might be wrong). Setting are set to Medium (I didn't see any other options for more detailed settings config, so I just went with it). Start the game, the first intro clip it runs smooth, I was like wow, that's nice. Once the game started, I run into a problem, for some reason my mouse and keyboard are totally unresponsive and completely messed up. W and S works as supposed to, when I press A or D, the character will go either straight or sideways. Mouse has only one movement, up. No matter if I move mouse down, up, left right, I will just stare at the sky. Toouchpad is unresponsive as well. I tried tweaking controls, but everything seems fine in there. in the game... mess...
So, there it goes, BFBC2 works well/smooth on native resolution in Medium Settings, but I never was in a battle or anything, so cannot confirm if the fps will drop in heavy area... Does anyone know how to fix this?
Dragon Age Origins. Well, after somewhat success in the BFBC2, I moved to DAO. Feeling cocky, I again maxed out resolution, all settings on High, except AA (which set to 0), textures to High. Starting the game, everything seems great. Not sure about fps, but the game is very playable, I didn't notice any problems. Played DOA for maybe 1 hour, had many battles, never had any drops in fps. The only time when it was little bit affected, is when there was fire, which looked amazing, but that time I could see a drop in fps for a second or so.
I haven't downloaded FRAPs since I spent all time playing, but I eventually will.
So, here you go folks, 320m is amazing little card that plays modern games on native resolution on either high or medium settings.
But I am still little bit skeptical about BC2, and wish I can do more testing to confirm this.

like I've said before...as long as StarCraft II works, all else can be hit or miss.

yes, it will.
StarCraft II. all over our faces. -
thats gross.
was BC2 ever playable? -
For BC2, I'm guessing you are using a cracked version since only improperly cracked versions have that bug. Do a google on the control problem for BC2.

Download tru steam or d2d is a bad option, since the connection is very crappy and with the download speed, it will take me months to download a game.

if there are 320M drivers at laptopvideo2go.com, you may consider updating to the latest drivers.
-
-
-
they are official Nvidia drivers. as for "supported"...it's not like you could call Nvidia up to get help anyway, right? -
The latest reference drivers released today supposedly include support for all notebooks that don't use Hybrid Power chipsets, but the 320M isn't listed as a supported card (or anywhere on nVidia's site at all, for that matter). It may still be worth a try.

he can just wait for the modded INF driver to come out and go from there.

Sad...I know. -
Regarding the drivers issue. Guys, we are (or at least I am) Mac users! There been numerous threads about how macs are not gaming machines and if you want to game, buy a PC, etc etc. I totally agree with that. So, why are you even talking about updating/installing some rogue drivers that are not even supported by our video card? I mean, with this, you maybe maybe gain few fps in a game, and maybe 1000 more in 3DMark, but risking screwing up the system, overheating issues, etc etc... I think the whole driver discussions will be more appropriate at alienware forums. Plus, the way it stands right now, 320M CAN run BC2 at native on medium settings, and It CAN run Dragon Age at native at high settings...
well, part of the everyday reality, business as usual. -

does anyone play COD4 for mac? Are there alot of people playing online??
-
Plenty of people still playing COD4 - the servers don't discriminate what type of operating system/computer you have!
(Just Vent as it needs a Mac friendly codec on the server!) -
