    Hey all.

So, I've had a BT Apple keyboard connected to my MacBook Pro for over 6 months now with nary an issue. Only the VERY occasional "Connection Lost" message, with an instant reconnect of the keyboard. No worries.

However, in the last few days, I've been seeing maybe 10 or 15 disconnects PER DAY. It's been driving me CRAZY. I live in a house, and no other devices have entered the fray that I'm aware of, that could interfere.

Just as annoyingly, my external Apple display and MacBook Pro display won't turn off after 10 minutes (as I set it) automatically, if BT is enabled. So somehow, something is wrong. I'm typing on the keyboard right now and it's behaving just fine, but what's going on here? What could cause this flip-outery?

I reset the PRAM to no effect. Does resetting the SMC help fix BT issues?

    Thanks for any help, all!

Stupid question but have you put in new batteries?

Also, sources of interference need not be introduced inside your home. It may external signal interference. Have you applied any updates to the OS lately?

+1 to that, I'd hope it would be just a simple battery issue.

I had put in new batteries just a few weeks ago. Battery life is over 75% according to iStat Pro. No new interference that I know of, and no new updates...

When the connection drops is there a jagged line or cross across your Bluetooth icon? Have you changed your MBP's RAM recently? Some Macbook bluetooth issues are known to have been caused by slightly incompatible RAM.

Nope nothing has changed at all. I just did a fresh re-install of Leopard last night, and it's still an issue. I put my computer to sleep this time, and the BT keyboard woke it up during the night! GAH!

Sounds like your option is to call AppleCare and send it in for repairs.

A day later, and the new keyboard is still going strong. No disconnects, and no computer turning on when it shouldn't. Wooo! Stay that way, please!
