That's what "incredulousness" sounds like when a person is put under pressure from Apple by killing off his legitimate business.

Read the Motherboard article if you don't like listening to Louis, he's just passing on the news from that article and others being published about Apple's draconian moves against our freedom's to self-repair our own bought and paid for hardware.

I would think the outright shock from Apple's bull **** would outweigh any "sensitivities" you might have to Louis's voice. Right?

"Please let jeff@ amazon.com know in a polite and courteous manner that the biggest marketplace in the world banning third party refurbishers on behalf of the least repair friendly company may be a decision that could use further consideration.

First it was suing people who were importing refurbished parts, then it was putting kill switches in the new machines, and now they are out right looking to ban anybody besides them from selling refurbished machines on the open market.

Jeff seems like the kind of reasonable guy that would at least be up to hear both sides of the debate on this issue, even if he decides to stay the course with his current policy."

    Stop selling Apple
    https://sellercentral.amazon.com/forums/t/stop-selling-apple/427709

"The reason is Apple plans to sell more of its products on Amazon....

" Amazon is constantly working to enhance the customer experience, and one of the ways we do this is by increasing selection of the products we know customers want. As part of a new agreement with Apple, we are working with a select group of authorized resellers to offer an expanded selection of Apple and Beats products, including new releases, in Amazon’s stores.

You are receiving this message because you are currently selling, or have previously sold, Apple or Beats products. Your existing offers for those products will soon be removed from Amazon’s online store in the United States. Please contact Apple if you would like to apply to become an authorized reseller on Amazon.

To prepare for this change, you may continue selling these products on Amazon through the holiday season until January 4, 2019. If you have any remaining inventory of these products in Amazon fulfillment centers on January 5, 2019, you will need to create a removal order. Amazon will reimburse you for the return or disposal fees through February 4, 2019. Please also note you will not be able to send shipments of these products to Amazon fulfillment centers effective December 1, 2018.

"We contacted amazon seller support on whether older discontinued apple products are impacted by this policy change and unfortunately they said yes… And also all conditions are affected, new - used - refurbished. Only the RENEWED program participants are not impacted but you have to proivde proof of $2.5M of Apple purchases every 90 days or $10M a year and so unless you are a big player you wont be able to qualify for the RENEWED program…"

    " Dear Seller,
This is XXXX, the associate working with you on this case. I want to thank you for contacting us with your concerns in regards to discounted APPLE products affected by this. Thank you for replying back to this case to clarify another question.

All products under the brand Apple will be affected by this, including products that are no longer manufactured or even sold by Apple store. This is due to the agreement made between Amazon and Apple. Only products that Renewed Sellers are offering as part of the Amazon Renewed program are not impacted by this change. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you or your business."

" Greetings from Amazon Seller Support,

My name is XXXX, an associate from the Catalog team. I see that you are asking if you may sell these items in another condition.

In response to your concerns, as part of our Agreement with Apple a decision has been made that sellers may continue to Offer these listings thru January 4th. You may not list an item in another condition other than its actual state as that would be against our Detail page policy’s and guidelines. After December 1st sellers will no longer be able to send inventory to fulfillment centers regarding these listings, and the impacted offers will be removed from Amazon January 4th.

To clarify, yes this applies to all conditions, all impacted offers regarding Apple or Beats products will be affected no matter what the condition is. Only products that Renewed Sellers are offering as part of the Amazon Renewed program are not impacted by this change. For more information on Amazon Renewed:

"Yeah this is pretty much news that Apple is taking over. Amazon wants an Apple store like experience on the amazon platform for these in demand items and Apple wants exclusive access to the millions of buyers on Amazon. I guess I get it from a business stand point. Just sucks that big money just rolls over the little guy. It’s kinda like being let go from your favorite job. I loved being able to sell on FBA and then still be selling while I was on vacation or traveling.

This for sure will be hitting me hard as 85% of my sales this year and probably all the other years on Amazon were of Apple products. Not really sure what I am going to do. Not too many products have the same turn over as Apple products.

Well I can say I was lucky to get my phone business kicked off EBay in 2014. That led me to selling on Amazon where the market was just then starting to explode for Cell Phones. I guess it only makes sense that Amazon would do this with Apple. I rode that wave as long as I could and now find myself on the beach trying to figure out what I will be focusing on next. Good luck to everyone out there affected by this."

    redmoontradingco 1d
"Hi, will this effect discontinued products that Apple no longer produces anymore? If Apple is no longer making the product I don’t see why us sellers should be barred from selling those used items if we are not in direct competition with Apple.?"

I would assume this can be extrapolated to anyone that might want to list their used Macintosh / Apple products for sale on Amazon?... Ebay next?, again??!

At the least I would expect this move to curtail the easy trade-in of previous generation Apple products and the sites that trade in them.

It's like Disneyland only real, and better, and more fun, and doesn't close. It can cost less, and it can cost a lot more.

Try staying there some time, make new friends and hang out for a week or more at a time, you'll get to experience new things in every direction. :)

AFAIK you can't get more than 2 years AC+, right? So when you start becoming $-wise sensitive and extend the life of your Apple devices past Apple service time, those 3rd party places all of a sudden become very important.

Apple will just laugh at you if you bring in an older device for repair... then point you back into the sea of money traps waiting for your gullible attention, designed to suck all of the cash from your beating heart. ;)

Ha ha ha. I can fix them myself too! ;) I do think this round of apple that we bought will be our last. I am not down with face ID, and no touch ID. The main reason we bought the 8 was for the touch id. If I cannot leave my device on the desk, or dock in the car, and unlock it, I am not owning it!

If there are no 3rd party markets for parts to be sold in the US, why would China continue to make parts?

It's a *system* of commerce. If Apple removes 3rd party parts sales and refurbished products from Amazon, Ebay, Craigslist, and every other emergent sales outlet as they appear to take the place of the closed markets, then Apple kills the whole ecosystem that supported keeping old Apple products working.

Then Apple can suck your soul out through your wallet with maximum profit and efficiency, large stacks of cash at a time, and you have no alternative but to wake up and realize Apple isn't your friend.

You might as well wake up now while you still have your money, and your soul. ;)

You don't think once Apple has the US locked up it won't pursue similar suppression of 3rd party components and repairs world-wide?

Apple's mistakes need to be addressed and stopped right now, before it gets worse.

That's not what Apple is saying, they are saying they are closing off access to "illegal" sources / places.

What other places will Apple declare "illegal" and close?

Oh yeah, there are *zero* "legal" places to purchase authentic Apple parts, according to Apple, including Apple - they refuse to sell parts to anyone except those approved - multi-million $ "partners" and those partners aren't allowed to sell parts to end users.

All I know is that you will be able to buy parts as you always have. Just like I can buy a fake iPhone, I will be able to buy parts no matter what crapple says
