    Hey guys,

Can anyone of you please recommend me an app which lets you choose which specific files/folders to sync/backup to your external hdd?

Essentially, I want the app to only sync/backup whenever I connect my external hdd and not during specific time slots. Hence, i dont think time machine can do this.

    THanks in advance.

Time Machine can do this... kind of... but its not very eloquent, and there is probably better options.

just turn off automatic, and you have to click to backup after you plug it in...

You also have to specify what NOT to back up, instead of what to back up...

TM will work by just not having the share connected unless you want a BU. Another little free program is FileSync. You can set it up to only BU the files you want and run the script whenever you want a BU.

I have been looking for a similar program.
Basically, once the computer recognizes a specific external HD attached it backs up the specific folder/files.

This way, I can always sync with that HD.

I do run TimeMachine and super flexible file synchronizer ..... but both really only run on a "time" schedule.
(Time Machine backs up the entire system to my time capsule and super flexible does the same only for specific files.... but always on a time schedule).

SO, if anyone knows of a solution, I am all ears.
Heck... even if some kind of script could be made to run super flexible once a specific external HD is attached that would be cool.

    TIA
