I'm curious if anyone in here use their ilevel with their 15" or 17" mbp and do you like it, is it worth buying?? Also if you can post some pictures I'd appreciate it!!

This is from griffin, "elevator," anyone use this one??

[IMG] and this is the ilevel, it has like a little lever you pull to adjust the screen up and down... is that useful???

[IMG] and this is the mstand.. hmm dont know which one!!

I have the griffin elevator. It's nothing special; pretty much exactly what you see in the picture.

I also use the Elevator. I like it because, due to its design, it allows a lot of air to circulate under the computer. It's very sturdy and matches my MBP well, too.

I use the m-stand. it looks cool (minimal) and is a good height for my external. I wouldn't use it (or any of these) without a bluetooth mouse and keyboard tho.

wow the mstand does look cool... I might get one of those, now the question is will it hold up a 17" mbp? =D

I already own a 17" ilap from the same company.. do you think that the mbp with the ilap could fit on top of the mstand??

Are you asking if you could put the MBP in the iLap, and then put that on top of the M-Stand? I imagine it would fit, but why would you want to do that??? That would look a bit stupid, IMO

Well I guess, but I'm leaning against just not buying the mstand and keeping the ilap instead but then the mstand is higher up... I guess I dont want to keep taking the laptop off the mstand and putting it on the ilap and vice versa.

I use the mStand, as well. Love it.I don't trust that Elevator since there's no lip at the front to hold the MacBook Pro in place in case it gets knocked.

I have a Griffin Elevator and I love it. It frees up a lot of space, lifts the MBP closer to eye level and allows for air circulation. It's even easy to assemble/disassemble in a compact way if you want to bring it with you for whatever reason.

I got it from the Apple online store, btw.

Every time I see pictures I just cringe at the thought of knocking it off the stand by accident. I can be a clumsy oaf. :)

Time to suck it up and admit I'm a newb...

So I got my Elevator about 4 or 5 months ago. And until I saw the pictures provided on this thread...I was using it upside down. And honestly, the rubber part on the bottom is much more "grippy" than the part you're supposed to use. I did flip it around and use it normally now (still stays on well, and where my computer is, there's very little chance of it getting knocked around), but I do think the mStand will be a sturdier solution. The benefits of the Elevator (I'm not sure on price, so I won't comment on that) are that it can be disassembled to take with you more easily, and it also seems like it would provide better passive air venting to the laptop.

Unless you physically run into your computer while it's on your desk it will not fall off of the stand. Hitting it with an elbow or knocking it with an arm will not knock it off of the elevator. It has a rubberized surface and it's in contact with enough of the computer such that it really will not slip.

you should see all of the custom elevated MacBook Pros in my studio, way cooler than any of these pre built elevators.

I usually am using my laptop only with external keyboard and mouse, or Wacom. So I have my laptop elevated just enough to be above the keyboard (pretty much like in my sig image), so I can still use the optical drive, and all the cords can go directly under the machine, it doesn't lift it too high, just perfect to my taste, and lets air flow all around the case.
