When I use my macbook pro for a while and my fingers get slightly damp or oily, not trying to sound gross lol, i seem to get this weird feeling in my figure that im using. It almost feels like a dull shock or a tingly sensation. anyone eles get it, im guessing it has to do with the material of the mbp

From what we have seen, this problem has occurred when people are using the 2 prong duckhead instead of the 3. Always use the 3 unless you have some reason to use the 2 prong.
    Keep computers grounded :-D
If it is grounded, call Apple.

actually, the three prong extension cord doesn't actually ground it b/c there is not a third prong on the brick.

hrm? My power brick has 3 metals power spots on it.

At least, I assume all 3 are for the power.

Also, make sure you're not touching any water pipes or radiator or radiator pipes. Everytime I touch those, my powerbook gets like that. In fact, everything I have that's powered by electricity and uses a metalic shell get like that.

Hehe, that would be rather awkward...getting a shock from the MBP every now and then. I wouldn't know, with my polycarbonate plastic-cased MacBook ;).

If you have any metallic screws on the underside of your Macbook that will happen to, sammers.

And it's not quite as pretty (read not pretty at all :p) as a MBP or PB.

I'll agree that the MBP is way better designed, but the MacBook isn't bad :p. It could be thinner, the screen bezel could be thinner, but the overall design is really nice...I mean, with companies like Dell's old Inspiron generation of weird colour schemes like silver casing and black keys, I like how the MacBook is one central colour.

The metal ring has a metal receptacle on the 3 prong duck head. I'd assume they'd have not put a metal part to touch the metal ring unless it was used for ground or something.

Dunno, I get shocks with the 2 prong and I don't get them with the 3 prong.

Hollownail is is entirely correct. Use the 3-prong extension cord and not the small 2 prong power piece. The former is grounded where as the latter is not.

By the way if you use the little 2 prong piece and it's going into a surge protector then it should be already grounded. However I use a surge protector and the three prong extension and have never been shocked.

Haha, nice to know I'm not the only one. Thought I was going crazy here.
At first I thought the hair on my wrist (no, I'm not THAT hairy  ) was somehow getting stuck in the edge of the mbp!
Thanks for the tip, I'll use the non-shocking cord from now on...

hair is a good electric conducter. Better than skin or fabric anyways. I should know...
