This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     I'm trying to spec out an editing system for work... my brain says get a Mac Pro, but my heart says get a 17" MBP with the 1920x1200 screen.

    Anyone editing HDV or DVCPRO HD on a MBP?

    I have access to a dual Quadcore 3.0 Mac Pro for larger compression tasks. The MBP should be able to handle most of the shorter compression tasks fine.

    What about solutions to previewing video to an external monitor? If found this:
