Anybody use garageband for serious work other than playing around with the piano keys and pre set beats? Seems to me its such a big waste of space.

    Are you a musician?

If not, then get rid of it. I'm not however I still keep it, I think it might be useful in the future if I do some homemade 'hollywood' like movies. Some of those sound effects in it is awesome.

Hey, I do not use it nor see myself ever using it, can you tell me how to get rid of it? I can't figure it out, just drag it into the trash from my bottom bar thing?

Go into a window and click on the "My Apps." bar, find garageband, then dump it into your trash can and empty it.
However, IMO, I'd just keep it unless I really needed the HD space for something else - its a neat (and sometimes very useful) tool for not only composing, but also recording sound/music too.

Ok, I will keep it until I need the space, thanks.

You can always reinstall it from the CD I guess.

Garageband has some really funky tunes. If you experiment enough you can actually compose some really interesting stuff just for fun. I suggest you keep it unless you really need the space, otherwise its a fun program to have. If you get experienced with it you can make some sound effects for your projects and stuff.

I like experimenting with Garage band, but unless you have a musical keyboard attached to your computer I cant see it being usefull, I will keep it istalled however because with the pre-installed loops you can make some nice little tunes for an afternoon drive hehe. On anouther Note my friend is a musician and he tells me he does use it for his keyboarding and sound recordings so maybe it is usefull to some people.
