Hey guys, today i decided to try chrome. However, when scrolling down weboages, i noticed some lag. It's not as fluid as firefox. Anybody noticed it? Is there any thing which can be done about it?

I dunno...I have Chrome installed on my MBP. I don't use it as my primary browser, but I didn't notice any lag. It seems to run substantially faster than Firefox, pages load much quicker but I overall didn't like the interface so I stick with Firefox for now.

Side gripe: what's with Chrome and Safari not even letting you make the browser window fullscreen

Weird. I've downloaded chromium twice and i get the same error saying i cannot extract it and this operation is not permitted. The chrome interface is quite nice but the lag while scrolling is unacceptable for me. I think i'm sticking with firefox.

I made the switch from Firefox to Chrome as soon as XMarks became available and the Mac version allowed extensions.

It completely blows FF out of the water for speed and I can't say I've noticed any lag at all when scrolling.

What websites in particular seem to lag to you?

Chrome seems faster then FF, its just it seems to drain my battery faster.

It lags here on nbr, while scrolling down forums. It also lags a little on engadget. I notice it's not as smooth as ff and safari. Yeah, chrome also increases my processor usage and battery life decreases. One thing i read about chrome is that it's process speed of java script is lightning fast.

Thats because Chrome doesn't have smooth scrolling like FF and co. There is an extension for smooth scrolling which works quite well. :)

I tried the smooth scrolling extension but my scrolling would become too sensitive. Chrome is definitely faster than ff but sucks battery life lots. Maybe that's one of the reasons it's still on beta. Btw, the themes are awesome!!!

Yeah I tried that extension too and found it almost unusable compared to the standard scrolling (which isn't bad at all IMO).

As for battery life, I can't say I've noticed mine take a hit since using Chrome over FF. For me, even if there was a bit of a hit, I would find it worth it simply being able to browse faster.

Weird I am pretty sure you can tweak the "lines per page" for that extension.

You sure can......but even then I still found it really dodgy and not any better than the default settings without the extension.

I'm starting to love Chrome over Firefox even I'm on Windows at the moment.

The only time I use FireFox is to debug website developments.

chrome is really too fast , it just needs for time for fixing bugs it's still in version 4 on windows , it ll take some time for chrome to completely take out FF , i used to like opera but its to slow compared to chrome on mac , right know i am back on safari cause chrome is frying my cpu when running flash video , i ll be back on chrome as soon as they fix this

You should try opera 10.5 when it comes to mac. Right now its faster than the 5.x dev version of Chrome that i was using.
