So with all this new MacBook Pro/ new MacBook talk abound what with the 15th rapidly approaching, are there any other die-hard Apple nuts like me who'd be willing to ditch their fairly new (for me - 2 months old!) MacBook or Macbook Pro to get a new one, for no reason other than WE CAN!?

    I'm salivating at the thought!

Well... mines a year old, but I would like to add a ultra portable to my stash of electronics.
I just can't work in Eclipse on a MBP unless I'm plugged in. Battery just doesn't last (I get 30min to 1 hour)....
Lets hope they add a hot swappable battery or the option to add a more powerful battery in these.

Well I guess I am in an interesting position. If I sold the mbp I just got, I could buy a new mid-tier mbp and the new ultraportable, and I'd still have cash to spare (I checked yesterday, the a new 2.2 mbp costs $7,000US here). But going from laptop to laptop is a pain in the ass without an external backup solution to clone my drive to make the transitions easier. If they only upgrade the processor and bump hard drive capacities I won't bother.

No. Mainly because I'm not made of money, I didn't get this too long ago, and anything lower than a 17 inch screen is useless for me.

hahah yeah man. Prices here are skyrocketing by the hour, specially now that dollar exchange restrictions have gotten tighter since january 1st. I was in disbelief too when I saw the price tag. Alas, I welcome you all to come down with your old apple hardware, I will help you sell it at a rockin price. hahah

I am very afraid. I bought mine in April 07, so Ill probably buy once the warantee is up, that way the new model can undergo revisions before I pick one up. Plus, since April, I've saved about $800 in poker winnings which I can put towards the purchase and by April I'll probably have about $1000.

Still not sure though, have to see what the new one offers.
