I am comtemplating a Mac, but would like some kind of docking station. Apple does not make one, but Bookendz makes an after market one. It looks a little awkward to use. Basically you have to plug everthing into the dock. I believe some PCs are set up differently, just using one connector. In any event, feedback would be appreciated.

Those PC's that use only one connector are made for the purpose, no Mac portable is (or there would be Apple docking stations). If they don't have such a specific connector, then it will have to connect everything separately yes.
Haven't heard of any docking stations made for Mac portables unfortunately, so can't help you there. -
There are Apple docks, they are just clunky. The main problem here is that Steve Jobs does not believe in docking stations. To him, a portable is for moving around and a desktop is for stationary. So you should have both, I guess. The point is since he sees no need for a dock, you won't find an easy solution. The amount of money the docks cost is not worth it. Just plug the stuff in manually.

Well, in my case at least, Jobs would be better off dropping his belief system and paying attention to the market. I probably will not buy the Apple because (1) the lack of a docking station and (2) lack of accident coverage.
Any Bookendz users out there?
