    Does the Aluminum macbook have optical out?

    Would the Aluminum macbook be horrible for any type of audio recording/playback. Such as djing, because of the lack of firewire?

    i don't like the macbook, but the lack of firewire is not that much of a problem, most nowadays sound cards are usb. like the audio 8 dj (traktor pro/scratch hw), which is a typical dj sound card.

    but of course, it does not allow you that much hw than a notebook with firewire would :)

    Yes, a macbook has optical out, so it has no problem of playing 5.1 from a movie. :p

    As mentioned above, you can connect your mac to a usb sound card. These can be found pretty cheap on ebay.
