So I'm about to take the plunge and buy a Macbook but first I'm hoping to find an alternative to Applcare that's offered in the UK.

I'm living in Germany at the moment but moving back to the UK in a month and have heard about a great offer here through a company called Gravis which offers 3 year warranty equivalent to Applecare PLUS accidental damage insurance at a much lower price than Applecare. Although it covers across Europe the problem is that if there is a problem you'd have to phone Germany, explain problem in German (eeeek, my German def not good enough to cope with computer breakdown frenzy) and then probably send it back to Germany to get fixed. Hence not ideal for a Brit.

But having discovered the trully amzing wonder of Gravis I was wondering if something similar might be available in the UK. Does anyone know about this?

Never heard of a third party offering support for Apple products like that, interesting idea though if they actually back it up. To answer your question though, I haven't seen anything like that in Ireland or the UK no.
