I am thinking of purchasing a Time Capsule, but I was wondering if I could plug in more than one hard drive to the Airport using a USB Hub. I currently have two external hard drives for two different users and if I only had to purchase an Airport Extreme it would save me a decent amount of money.

yes it is possible as long as the USB hub is self powered, and your HDD's are compatible, as a few types of HDD's have issues.

what types of external HDD's do you use?

a good place to check for compatibility is Apple's own Discussion Page for the Airport Extreme Base Station: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1135

some people are having issues with using external HDD's on their Airport Extreme's I have been using mine without problems, connected to my 500gb Lacie Porsche external. you just need to install Apple's Airport Utility Software and Airdisk software on the computers you would like to access the drive. (Any recent OS X machine should already have the Airpot Utility software)
