Got a new Airport Extreme Base Station, and it seems to work, except every few hours, it simply disappears. Network can't be found, and Airport Utility can't even find the station.

It's "fixable" after I powercycle it, unplug the ethernet cable, AND reboot my MBP (not sure why I actually have to do the last part, but it won't see the station unless I do).

Anyone know a way around this?

Man, when I first clicked on this, I thought it meant you had some problems at the airport. Like getting your laptop through customs or the scanners or something. Just a random thought...

Really, every few hours you need to cycle the AirPort Extreme? That's ridiculous. That's no acceptable at all. Once/twice a month is acceptable.

I don't really have anything constructive to add. I can only suggest what I assume you've already tried: Install the latest AirPort Utility Software Update and AirPort Extreme Firmware Update. The updates should show up in Software Update too.

Seriously though, that's not cool. Maybe it's defective. Peace.

    Yep done all that.

It's apparently a known problem on the Apple forums - there was some nice info on the 2.4ghz band dropping out...

I turned on interference robustness and switched over to the 5GHz n-only band - maybe it's all the interference that's causing it...ah well we'll see.

Mine does the same, unless its connected via ethernet, it won't recognize it. It worked fine one day, then all of a sudden. I've also tried everything. I called Apple and they said to basically fiddle around with it for a while then call back. I'm going to try calling them today or this weekend.
