Just bought myself an airport extreme to extend my network and for wireless music.

I connected my Logitech Z-2300 into the airport express (3.5mm to 3.5mm cable) but the sound quality is very very bad. Hooking my Sony A808 to it sounds much better. I have tried apple lossless files but they don't seem to help.

The Z-2300 only has a 3.5mm jack out and is the only way to connect a source into the speakers, so i don't see any point getting an optical/digital cable.

The sound is really distorted. Sounds like a very deep alarm clock radio sound with muddy bass.

Does anyone else have this problem? Or any fixes?
