When I buy my MacBook Pro (after Leopard release) I will be buying an AirPort Extreme in order that my PC and Mac can utilize the same wireless connections (DSL/Printer).

I am also considering the AirPort Express in order to extend my wireless connectivity, but I am curious about the AirTunes feature.

How would the AirTunes connect to my home theater system (Samsung HT-Q40)? Must I run an RCA (red/white) cable from my system to the Airport Express? Do I need to buy the Stereo Connection Kit in order for this to work?

Yes, you will need an RCA cable with a 1/8" plug on the other end in order to connect your Airport Express to your stereo. This cable is not included with the Airport express so you would have to buy them seperately.

I doubt you'll need to extend my wireless if you have the airport extreme. I had a Linksys router + extender setup before. Now I have an airport extreme covering all area in my house just fine. The airport extreme has very good range. Unless of course you have a 10000 sq ft mansion.

I looked at airtunes but decided to give it a miss when I discovered it only broadcasts music from iTunes. So if you want to listen to sound from Quicktime or from a DVD on your music system, it won't do it.

I have a broadband broadcast/receiver which is not as sexy as airport express but IMO does a better job of the audio side :)
