It sounds tinny as well, like no bass. On full volume I can barely hear anything.

The speaker clip is in, what else could I check?

Do you have the speaker "nipped" by anything when you put it back together?

I mean physically pinched by cable or something causing the the movement of the cone to be impeded. Let me know what you find!

No, I dont want to tell you haha. I thought I had pushed the sub and right speaker pins in properly but one side was raised by 1mm, pushed it further in and bingo, back to crappy Apple sound :). All fixed.

My next problem is the heat shrink tape i bought for my magsafe is not big enough to go over it and doesnt seem to want to stretch. my 3rd magsafe fray. i got sick of buying new ones. i dont even move the things and they disentegrate. im going MS Surface Book after this dies, Apple is going down, especially if it subsidises its terrible Notebook quality control with iPhone sales revenue.

Hmmmm, not sure. I think a quick google fu would help you there. I am not a MacOS user. I can try to help on hardware issues etc, but that software is not my cup of tea so to speak.

How did you make out with your speaker issue?
