Looks like it's here, according the the apple page :

    http://www.apple.com/creativesuite3/

I know it's supposed to come out this month tho, as I went to the Adobe site and it says that it's shipping the pre-orders this month.

    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/

They've got so many freaking versions of it that I don't have any freaking idea what to get. I have no idea why they've decided to do this, as it makes Vista look like a damn walk in the park when choosing which version to buy. I just want to get Photoshop, but the site suggests that I get Adobe Photoshop 3 and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom since I'm into photography. I'm trying to find out if there's a package that contains both. I'm wondering if Photoshop CS3 Extended has "Lightroom" included, but I can't find anything on the damn product page :

    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshopextended/?promoid=RXDB

Does anybody know if the Extended version has "Lightroom", or should I order Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom?

Or should I go with Aperture? Does anybody here use it? I've heard many good things about it, and that it's better than Lightroom and all around better than Photoshop.

Basically, I like to take photos (of course) and scan them & resize them and such. I also like to do photo manipulation, layering and stuff like that ... for album covers & flyers and such ...

Amazon.com leaked the ship date when they put CS3 in their catalogue... looks like it's shipping April 20th.

Lightroom isn't available in any of the CS3 packages... Photoshop CS3 Extended is a souped up version with 3D support, image analysis and film retouching support.

Damn. Looks like it's either Photoshop CS3 + Lightroom or Aperture .... which is a hell of a lot cheaper than the both of those.

Does Arpeture have any Photoshop like quailties to it? Would I be able to do some text stuff, or mutilayering of pictures? Or is it mainly like a Lightroom program?

I for one cannot wait for Flash CS3. Finally a universal version of Flash. Some of my bigger flash projects will hopefully be able to run without a constant 2 second lag and not force the fan on my Macbook to go full scale anymore.

I have heard great stories about Lightroom. Not sure how it compares to Aperture, but it should definitely be much more compatible with other Adobe products than Aperture. You could always try out the 30 day trials before making up your mind.

Lightroom is reportedly way better coded than Aperture, and it runs faster while being less of a resource hog.

Adobe sure made Mac users wait awhile to get native versions of their software available.

I am very excited to get the Production Suite CS3, looks like it will be fantastic, the new Photoshop looks fantastic as well.

I don't see why you are having trouble which one will work well for you? All the versions are very well laid out and all of the information is readily available on Adobe's site.

Lightroom works better thus far on my mBp than aperture, perhaps it's written with Intel mac in mind?

I'm excited about Photoshop CS3 and Dreamweaver CS3. Mostly the integration between them is well done, but also the new Spry features of Dreamweaver CS3 is great. Photoshop CS3 is great too, slightly redesigned user interface but mostly I regard it as an improvement because I'm currently using Photoshop 7 (until I started using Photoshop CS3 Beta).

That annoys me a great deal as well. Hope it comes out soon.

Perhaps if they had had a little more advance warning of the architecture switch? Transferring tens of millions of lines of code from one development environment to another is not something you do overnight...

Still, I know a lot of graphic designers who'll be switching to Mac Pros now that Adobe supports them. Running CS2 via Rosetta is painful.

Yup, lets hope we have some 3d support in flash finally.

    I'm so excited.

    I just can't hide it.
