    Adobe CS4 question

    I originally installed Adobe CS 4 on a Macbook Pro in 2009.
    When i upgraded to another Macbook Pro in 2010, I used Setup Assistant to migrate the application to that new MBP. I then erased my 2009 MBP to sell the machine.

    I had to re-register the CS4 on the new MBP, hence using my 2nd permissible registration on the program (even though I only had the application suite on one computer)

    Now, I have coming a new 13" MBA, and I will want to use Setup Assistant again to migrate the same application to it. I will then erase my MBP to sell.

    I presume I am out of registrations for CS4. How do I complete lawful transition to the new system? Is it a phone call to Adobe Tech Support (for which I would be charged a tech support call). Or is there an easier way to "create" a new registration?

    Call adobe. The licence should allow you to have it on two computers at the same time. Not install it only twice.

    Well you're the owner of the software's key so you should be able to install it in as many computers as you want as long as at any moment in time it is installed in one computer only. I hope that this makes sense.

    If you have trouble installing it in your new laptop just contact Adobe and explain that you've uninstalled Adobe CS4 from your old laptop and that you want to installed into your new one. They will help you with any registration/installation issues :). Worst case scenario they will give you a new product key :)

    i would definitely call adobe. adobe is really strict with their license. I had a similar problem with rosetta stone language software. it gives you 2 license. just like adobe. adobe only gives you 2. they are not unlimited. i had the same issue with rotating laptops. it had never been on more then 1 machine but the software thought it had. it would not install the third time. calling rosetta they actiually looked up my purchase info. i had bought it from them. so it was on file. had i not bought it from rosetta stone i would have been screwed. i dont know if adobe is as strict as rosetta stone but i heard they are, but due to the cost of the software i strongly suggest you call them first before you reinstall and see what their procedure is.
