God, i've been receiving inumerous spams since i started using adium. I googled for a solution and it was a simple one, to change the privacy settings to only allow messages from contact list, however, when i close the program and open again, savings are reseted to receiving messages from anyone, anyone have any ideas?

I tried browsing the adium forum but the solution were a bit confusing

I would suggest using iChat. It has the same settings to only let your friends list im you. How come you are using adium instead?

cuz iChat doesn't support all the networks that Adium does... Adium actually works really well, not sure why the OP has those problems. maybe try getting rid of adium and all its support files and .plist files... then copy it back over new and run it for the first time.

i haven't gotten any spam using adium...

i think that it is important to note that the spam is not from adium the program, but from the networks he is using to his username on those networks. i don't know why adium isn't saving your settings.

adium is actually a really great program that has a lot of functionality ichat does not. the "friend list" can be made transparent, minimalist, and can hide on screen edges on all of your spaces, making it act like a friend list version of the dock. very slick.
