    Adium Alias

    I organized many of my contacts in Adium by entering alias's for contacts to display instead of their user names. However when I open other clients AIM in windows or iChat in Mac OS, the alias's are not displaying. Is there anything I could do to import them or get them to show up?

    You may be better off asking this in a windows forum. As far as I know, you can't import them from Adium. I don't even know if you can change from screen name to alias in AIM.

    But what about with iChat? How come the new user names dont show up in iChat either? It seems as though Adium is not uploading the new names to the AOL server.

    It doesn't upload the names to the server, it changes how they appear on your installation of Adium.

    I just command+i everybody in my contact list one by one and change the alias. Should change what appears in the contact list and in the chat window.

    That's what i did in order to change the names. What I'm saying is that it doesn't change in other IM programs such as AIM and iChat. I wanna know how to change the alias in ALL programs.
