    Hey all

was wondering if you could answer a few questions. I've decided that the current 12" powerbook is the best fit for me (all the other similar sized windows books seem flimsy in that pricerange). Anyway I had two questions for current pb owners.

    1. I aready own a p4 desktop with windows xp, can I transfer data between them rather easily? Meaning, will the desktop recognize the mac and vice versa?

    2. I plan on doing presentations (maybe some video showings) with the mac, is it hard to connect it to a tv and/or compatible projectors?

finally I just saw that Amazon was selling the new 15" macbook for about 1850 (150 rebate). How much do you all think the 12" mac book would sell for? And should I wait?

Thanks a lot for reading and any suggestions!

I would personally wait on purchasing any PowerBook outside of the MacBook Pro. You'll see a 12" model with the Intel CPU soon enough. An investment in the current 12" model would be a bit of a waste since it will be outdated VERY soon.

Regarding the sharing of files with a Windows machine, this is certainly not a problem and will be seemless once the Intel transition is complete.

Doing presentation is no problem with any mac since they are all equipped with a mini/standard DVI out.

I concur with Barry - don't get the PB; it's getting old. In addition, such things as Virtual PC will be comming out shortly for MacIntels and will be able to handle tasks such as PowerPoint, Word and such.

yea it will b relatively easy, i've heard from some ppl that it can b painfully slow... but anyways generally it should b piece of cake

    2. I plan on doing presentations (maybe some video showings) with the mac, is it hard to connect it to a tv and/or compatible projectors?

probably same as windows, the 12 in. pbook has a mini-dvi built in while 15/17 inches hav regular DVI and S-video

the macbook 12" *should* b the same price as the pbook 12. inch when it comes out--the iMac and the macbook pro's never saw a price increase (at least on base prices dunno about options)

there's also been nebulous rumors that the macbook pro line mite not hav the 12 inch version but i seriously doubt that.. but then again i seriously doubted a powerbook upgrade on intel wud come b4 the ibook upgrade so who knows what steve jobs is up to lol

my advice is get it if u absolutely have to (like u need it tmrw lol).. or wait.. the wait will b worthwhile ;-)
