Just wanted to know if anyone can recommend a firewall application that controls both the incoming and the outgoing traffic. The built in firewall protects from incoming request, but I'd like to control the outgoing connections as well. I did a search and found 1 thread, but it's more than a year old.

Little Snitch and WaterRoof (and its simpler version NoobProof) seem to fit the bill. Any recommendation besides these?

Thanks in advance for your time.

FYI. Little snitch has been known to interfere with Time Machine backup when using a Time Capsule. I have been seeing a lot of problems regarding that application and Time Machine. FYI

I am wondering this too. I also don't know how important it is to have a two way firewall on a Mac. Before we get to register for classes here, we have to take a little quiz about internet security and made me think about putting a third party firewall on my Mac but I am just not sure if it is needed or which one...

I just need something simple. I would like to know which programs are accessing internet and when, and of course to have the final word on whether they can or not. That's all... I am not too much concerned about incoming threats, because 99% of the time, I am behind "hardware" firewalls.
