I just bought a macbook pro yesterday and I'm still working on getting used to the new OS and whatnot and i have a few stupid questions...

    1. Are there any mice that work well with a mbp? I took my mouse off my current Windows PC (Some old Logitech optical mouse) and it works well except for when I have to make small movements it sort of skips or doesn't exactly go where I want it to. Is it just a dead zone built into my mouse or do i need one thats designed for OS X?

    2. I got SMC fan control running and was just curious as to whats the safest but fastest speed I should be running my fans at? Is there any issues with fans if they constantly run at 6000 rpm besides obviously my battery life?

    3. I downloaded the codeweavers trial of crossover to see if I could get CS:S to run on a mac which it did. It just runs relatively so. Most of the time I'm at or below 50 fps on the lowest settings but when a lot of action is taking place I get a decent amount of lag. Is there a way to make it run faster or would I just be better off running boot camp and buying windows in which i know it would be significantly better but I just don't feel like dropping $200 to get a copy of XP Home (If anyone knows where I could get it cheaper, please tell me).

Thanks in advance and sorry if these are reposts but I tried searching around and didn't get any definitive answers.

    1. Yes. Just download iMousefix and check the disable mouse acceleration button.
    2. Remove that. The Macbook fans work just fine by default.
    3. Of course bootcamping would give you the best performance results. Crossover is currently Beta, so perhaps non-beta software like Parallels would give you better results. Cannot guarantee anything however.

Thanks for the help but even when i had iMousefix it still didn't fix my mouse. Whenever i move the mouse a little bit (ex. to X out a program) the sensitivity of the mouse goes down so I have to move it faster but then it goes too fast. Its like the mouse is switching between two modes.

But how did you get it? It gives a disclaimer that says "Qualifying proof of purchase must be recent receipts showing the purchase of a mother board, hard drive, RAM and a CPU. The components can be on multiple receipts; not necessarily all on one receipt nor on the same receipt as the qualifying Windows XP/Office 2003 that you purchased."
