    The mac pros just underwent an update a month or so back, so I really do not see an update for the Mac Pros very soon. Maybe next year, but I am unsure about how often the Mac Pro line is updated.

    imop, this will not happened.

    this was asked before, the power requirement for 8800m gt is too high. more than likely, when the 9000 series from Nvidia comes out, a more powerful gpu will be incorporated, as the die shrink side will also lower the power consumption.

    Doubt it. The power requirement for the higher-end cards, the larger size, and the extra heat produced all make it unlikely that Apple will put them in. Plus. the 8600M GT, while not a really high-end card, is more than adequate for most tasks. Putting in a more powerful card would most likely push more users away due to the extra heat, weight and size along with lower battery life than it would draw in (as gamers generally don't go for Macs anyways).

    But hey, only Steve really knows...

    Honestly doubt it could happen, never mind will. The current Macbook Pro has enough issues with heat dissipation even with an 8600 on board. If they did I can just see the lawsuits for burns queuing up. Apple would probably call it an iBurn and charge €300 for the privilege. Nvidia have the 9000 series coming so i'd expect to see some form of 9600 in the next revision. Rumour has it they have better handling of thermals so along with penryn the MBP may run cool for a change.

    it will never happen unless apple offer liquid cooling in macbook pro, the heat of my x1600 is already driving me crazy, I probably getting a sager or alienware without 2 weeks
