    Macbook's 5400 rpm and MBP's 7200 rpm.

What difference does it make in my daily usage of the computer?

The most noticeable difference for most users will be startup/shutdown times. 7200RPM also lowers battery life through higher power draw.

True, but the battery life impact it leaves isn't significant really, usually its just xx minutes. I don't know the exact amount but it all varies.

As long as you dont have 4200 rpm, you should be fine with 5200 rpm because it works fairly well at that speed, and needing desktop speed (7200rpm) is a bit overkill for most cases such as everyday use.

There used to be a good few articles from a few year ago when 7200 were really getting into the notebook arena that showed they didn't drain more power and didn't really get any hotter.
I did look for those a while ago, but no luck.
