    Hey everyone,

Just a quick clarification, the macbook pro GPU can run the apple 30" cinema monitor right? I think it said it had to be dual DVI something something, can anyone explain this to me?

And by the way, the 30" monitor is like the most beautiful screen i've ever seen. I think the resolution is higher than most HDTV's isn't it? 2650 x 1600 or something...anyway it's....unbelievable :).

Yes, the MBP has dual link DVI (which is needed to power a 30" cinema display.

It will, but don't get an Apple 30". I love Apple, and I think te Cinema displays look great, but they are WAY overpriced and have ZERO features. Get the Dell 30" Ultrasharp. It uses the same exact panel as the Apple, but offers many more connections, 4 USB ports to Apples 2, and a memory card reader. Now Apple does have 2 FireWire ports, so that is a plus. The other downside to the Apple is that the USB, FireWire, DVI, and power all go through one cable. If that cable breaks you are done. Here is a good article:

They actually choose the Apple, but you can see how close they are and they admit that dollar for dollar the Dell is probably the better value. By the way, the Dell is currently 1499 and the Apple is 1999.
